Medical Education in Mexico and the World is a matter of reflection and continuous analysis of development in the search of improving the teaching-learning process in the medical area. Therefore, the Mexican Association of Medical Faculties and Schools, A.C. (AMFEM) and the Health Ministry of the Federal Government, within the scope of the bicentenary of the 'MEXICAN INDEPENDENCE' and the centennial of the 'MEXICAN REVOLUTION', are inviting contributors involved in design, development, evaluation and updating of plans and study programs for medical careers, as well as those responsible for the regulatory framework, to the 2nd INTERNATIONAL CONGRESS OF MEDICAL EDUCATION, the 1st INTERNATIONAL CONGRESS OF SIMULATION IN MEDICAL EDUCATION, and THE NATIONAL HEALTH EDUCATION WEEK OF THE FEDERAL HEALTH MINISTRY to be held from May 31 to June 4, 2010 in CANCUN, MEXICO.

This second congress is going to permit a discussion space and a forum for proposal presentations to set medical education in a global and contextualized environment, allowing the participants to get to know the educational innovations applicable to new styles of learning (PBL, MBE ) as well as innovative educational services (use of clinical simulators), new rich media applications for learning (educational software), applications concerning technology platforms for the production and information management (instructional design for distance education), open innovation of new technologies as a social inclusion, education skills, continuous and distance learning education among others.
At the same time, the International Congress of Medical Education will reveal the current state of medical education in diverse and different settings and alternatives at regional, national and international levels. This will serve as a framework for designing strategies and actions focused to achieving a close collaboration among medical schools and faculties in the world. We hope for the assistance of over 800 participants who are going to highlight this event.
In order to achieve our objects, we have invited a selected group of professors with high quality in academic experience and trajectory. This makes us believe that there will be an international communication on the subject. We invite you to allow us to prove our hospitality. This will be the beginning of a consolidation of the medical education's quality worldwide.
We are looking forward to see you in Cancun and to continue sharing the experience.
Yours sincerely
